Goalpara district shines in AHM, HSLC exams

 GOALPARA, May 15 - It was a moment of pride for the district of Goalpara after a brilliant performance shown by Sharmin Hasnat from Central Girls’ High School, who bagged the 6th position in the HSLC examination with 588 marks. On the other hand, in  High Madrassa Examination, Selim Ahmed of Rakhaldubi High Madrassa School secured the 1st position with 561 marks and Ilias Ali of Ambari Kartimari High Madrassa School bagged the 3rd rank by obtaining 547 marks.

A festive and joyous mood prevailed in the Central Girls’ School for the success of Sharmin.

According to official figures, a total of 458 candidates passed the board examination, of which 152 secured first division, 154 second division, while 152 obtained third division with pass percentage of 50.44%.

Among the schools, Sankardev Sishu Vidya Niketan secured 100 per cent results, followed by Oasis Academy, both from Goalpara town, while the PR Govt HS & MP School secured 46.9 per cent pass percentage.

Meanwhile, Principal of PR Govt HS & MP School Sozim Uddin Ahmed said this year’s results saw a significant improvement, compared to previous years owing to hard work put in by the teachers and the guardians. Deputy Commissioner Varnali Deka also congratulated all the successful candidates and lauded the efforts of the rank holders who made the district proud.
