SRFTI’s Itanagar extension campus starts functioning

 ITANAGAR, May 15 - Classes for the first batch of a 10-week short term certificate programme ‘A short trip to Cinema’ commenced at Film and Television Institute’s (FTI) temporary campus at Vivek Vihar here today.

The FTI is an extended campus of Satyajit Ray Film and Television Institute (SRFTI), Kolkata under Ministry of Information and Broadcasting, Govt of India. The permanent campus of the FTI here will come up at Jollang-Rakap near Jote village in Papum Pare district.

SRFTI Director Dr Debamitra Mitra told the students that they would be remembered by posterity as the pioneers in the fields of film and television and urged them to take the classes seriously.

Dr Mitra said that film and television offered ample opportunities and scopes for the aspiring film and television trainees. The Director also said that the basic nuances and intricacies of film and television making would be taught by professionally trained teachers.
