Assam rout Daman & Due

 GUWAHATI, May 14 – Assam maintained their winning form in the 66th senior National Football Championship for Santosh Trophy. After defeating Sikkim 5-2 in their opening match of Cluster VII on May 12, Assam today recorded another huge victory trouncing Daman & Due 6-0 at Bhubaneswar.

Taking control of the situation from the word go, Chayaram Basumatary forged Assam ahead in the 7th minute. Jyotish Basumatary made it 2-0 in the 12th minute while Chayaram again found the target in the 17th minute. Assam attackers were in rampaging form as Khirod Das struck in the 19th and 41st minute to take his team 5-0 ahead at the break.

After changing over Manas Manjit Chetia completed the rout in the 59th minute. In the last cluster match Assam will play against Haryana on May 16.
