6 RJs from Assam in nat’l contest

 GUWAHATI, May 13 - Six radio jockeys working in various FM radio channels of Assam have been nominated in the “Best RJ” category of the national level contest ‘Excellence in Radio Awards’ organised by the India Radio Forum (IRF).

The Assamese RJs are RJ Sujita, RJ Aliya, RJ Mendi, RJ Subhankar, RJ Pahi and Rituparna Das. Rituparna Das is the only nominee from among 422 centres of Akashvani. This year, for the first time, Akashvani is taking part in the contest. Das has been nominated for the programme Rupali Lahar of Akashvani, Guwahati.

This time, altogether 207 RJs from across the country have been nominated. The organisers will confer awards in 46 different categories. The organisers have already announced the names of awardees in 45 categories, while the awardees in the “Best RJ” category will be selected based on public votes.

The organisers informed that the voting process for the Best RJ category will be open till May 15, and anyone can cast their vote online for their favourite RJ.
