The most important panel – the Election Committee which will select potential candidates for the coming Assembly elections, has been announced with PCC president Sudip Roy Barman as its convener and MLA Birajit Sinha as chairman. All the MLAs have been included in the 15-member Election Committee.

Besides party legislators, former Chief Minister Samir Ranjan Barman, senior party leader Ratan Chakraborty and Kalyani Dey find place in the all-important panel.
