Miscreants snatch cash from woman in Nagaon
A Correspondent
NAGAON, May 11 - Two motorcycle-borne miscreants decamped with a bag containing Rs 1 lakh from a woman in front of Chalachal Hotel here on Thursday.

The incident took place in broad daylight when the woman was travelling in a rickshaw towards her residence after drawing the money from the main branch of the SBI here.

During the melee, the victim too was dragged down the road along with the bag by the miscreants, following which she sustained severe injuries.

The victim, who is an employee of the district unit of Brahmaputra Board, is a resident of Panigaon Chariali.

Meanwhile, police admitted her to a local hospital and later registered a case. Investigation into the incident is on. Though police launched a search operation just after the incident, but to no avail.

It may be mentioned here that just two days back another two motorcycle-borne miscreants tried to snatch away a bag of money from a man who too was dragged along with the bag over the road for around 10 metres at the same location. But luckily for the man, the attempt to snatch his money proved futile for the miscreants.
