Kerala, Jharkhand win

 TINSUKIA, May 7 – Kerala trounced Jammu and Kashmir 5-1 in the Cluster IV league match of the National Football Championship for the Santosh Trophy here today. The star of the match was Kerala’s Kannan who scored 4 goals (16th, 20th, 61st and 78th minutes) in the match.

The other goal of Kerala came from Martin in the 50th minute. For the losing team, Nazir reduced one in the 67th minute. In the second match of the day, Jharkhand got the better of Chandigarh 2-1. For Jharkhand the goals came from Ranbhan Meiti (29th min) and Rabindra Singh (53rd min). For Chandigarh, Harmindar Singh scored in the 48th minute. The inaugural function was attended by Tinsukia DC SS Menakshi Sundaram, OIL GM BB Khaund and Tasen Bora.
