Nalbari youth attempts Guinness record

NALBARI, May 6 – After Abhijit Baruah, the boy from Jorhat district who entered his name in the Guinness World Records running 24 hours uninteruptedly, a Nalbari boy Babu Purushuttam today also attempted to find his name in this world record book. The boy who hails from a poor family of remote Niz Tapa village started his journey of 24-hour-tour walking backward at around 3.30 this evening from his village. The youth has planned to complete his walking through Belsor, Singimari, Chamata, Nalbari, Kalitakuchi, Daulashal and Rampur areas of the district. In this journey, Purushuttam has to walk a distance of 90 km. The youth has already arrived at Nalbari town till the filling of this report.Thousands of his fellow villagers and people from its adjoining areas today gathered at his village this afternoon when he started the walk. While talking to this correspondent, Purushuttam said that till date no record of walking backward is found in the Guinness World Records. He added that earlier, he arrived at Raj Bhawan from his house on November 20 on foot demanding Bharat Ratna to late Dr Bhupen Hazarika. The Nalbari district unit of AASU, Nalbari District Sports Association and Nalbari District Journalists Union extended helping hand to the youths. |
