Mukul slammed over Garo Hills situation
Correspondent
SHILLONG, May 6 – The BJP today expressed disbelief that neither the Meghalaya Chief Minister nor any senior Minister visited Garo Hills to assess the situation there following the 144 hour bandh called by the banned Garo National Liberation Army (GNLA.)

“It is unbelievable that after a week-long bandh neither the Chief Minister nor any senior Minister of the State has visited the affected areas of Garo Hills. The Central Government has also shown least concern about the hardship of the people in the State,” BJP said.

The BJP stressed that the Government should immediately step in to remove the fear psychosis from the minds of the people and ensure peace and normalcy in Garo Hills.

Meanwhile, the NCP too has lashed out at the CM for the worsening Garo Hills situation. The party demanded that Mukul Sangma must step down as the CM for his failure to ensure peace and security in Garo Hills.
