Silchar 166 for 5 in 1st innings

 GUWAHATI, May 2 – NF Railway Sports Association made 349 losing all their wickets in 101.3 overs in their first innings of the 4-day Nuruddin Trophy Senior Inter District Cricket Championship against Silchar at the Nehru Stadium here today. In reply, Silchar were 166 for 5 in 50 overs in their first innings trailing by 183 runs.

Resuming day two on the score of 277 for 7, NF Railway’s Tarjinder Singh, who remained 30 not out yesterday, scored a useful 70. Overnight batsman Mrigen Talukdar could not last long and was out for 29. Arup Das also came to help of NF Railway with his 21 runs. For Railway, Pritam Das, Kaushik Giri, Prakash Bhagat and Raju Das took 2 wickets each.

Silchar in their first innings are in a bit of trouble losing half of their side with the score reading 166 in 50 overs. Rajdeep Das (44) and Samik Das were at the crease at the end of days play. Raju Das was the other notable contributor for Silchar with his 44. For NF Railway, Shekarjyoti Barman took 2 for 54 and Surupam Purkayastha’s figures read 2 for 47. Arup Das took 1 wicket giving away 13 runs.
