SILCHAR, March 30 – The All India Democratic Students’ Organisation (AIDSO) together with the All India Democratic Youth Organisation (AIDYO), All India Mahila Sanskritik Sangathan and Consomal paid rich tributes to martyrs Bhagat Singh, Sukhdev and Rajguru recently.
In a function organised at the Khudiram Point here, the organisers offered red salute in memory of the martyrs, recognising their sacrifice for the cause of the motherland.
SUCI leader Pradip Deb said India would have attained freedom much earlier had the struggle for freedom been like the one fought by Bhagat Singh, Sukhdev, Rajguru and Netaji Subhash Chandra Bose. Dulali Ganguly of AIDYO said that the present-day world is in dire need of a movement and it needs leaders like Bhagat Singh to put an end to corruption and malpractices dominating everywhere.
Gour Chandra Roy of AIDSO speculated that the way the students of lower middle class and lower income groups have been made to study till Class VIII with evaluations in the government schools, will have an adverse impact on their academic careers as they will have no real knowledge of what they are learning.
