North East karate championship ends

 GUWAHATI, March 30 Arunachal Pradesh clinched the best team title in the North East India Karate Championship which came to an end at the Tarun Ram Phookan Indoor Stadium here last evening.

Arunachal Pradesh won 30 gold, 22 silver and 10 bronze medals in the two-day meet. Assam stood second in the medal tally winning 15 gold, 17 silver and 41 bronze medals.

A total number of 324 karatekas from seven NE States took part in the meet.

The best karatekas in different categories are: (Cadet, 14-15 years, girls) Tamasi Nanchi (Arunachal), Janki Devi (Assam), Niyaimu Mara (Arunachal). (Boys) Shapa talu, Nabam Badhe, Minaj Tekocheng, Mamun Dojung, Daniyang Fu, Kamku Talu (all Arunachal), Madhab Tripathi (Assam). (Junior 16-17 years, girls) Yahchi Tausik (Meghalaya), Gyamar Mech, Bamang Yamung (Arunachal), K Imoucha Devi (Manipur). (Boys) Raja Yangfo, Tashi Bagang, Yarjum Sher (all Arunachal), Ujjal Dutta (Assam), Biplob Debnath (Arunachal). (Senior, above 18 years, women) Ester Mary Lyngdoh (Meghalaya), Bibi Thami, Saini Mikhu, Mihi Ramsing (all Arunachal). (Men) Matiyak Tamblang, Jen Wang Kamsu (both Arunachal), Maichau Juala (Mizoram), Chandan Machary, (Nagaland), Nabin Juma, Rajib Ali (both Arunachal).
