Fairyland, Nichols win opening ties

ADC Rajib Prakash Baruah being introduced to the players in the opening ceremony of the inter school cricket tournament in Guwahati on Monday.
 GUWAHATI, March 30 – On the opening day of the Nabin Chandra Tamuly Inter School Cricket Tournament, organised by the Guwahati Cricket Coaching Centre (GCCC), at the Nehru Stadium here today, Fairyland High School beat Jr Dantine Academy English School by seven wickets while Nichols posted a five-wicket victory against Pragjyotish School.

ADC Rajib Prakash Baruah, who is also the president of the GCCC and sponsor Ganesh Tamuly were present as guests and they inaugurated the championship.

Brief scores: Dantine Academy 129/6 (Sagar Kr Sha 76, Dhananjay Paswan 2/19). Fairyland 132/3 (Kausar Ali 34, Atul Singhal 34, Hridik Doimari 2/30).

Pragjyotish 128/4 (Abdul Aziz 60, Akash J Kaushis 2/23). Nichols 132/5 (Rahul Sarma 24, Bikash Sah 2/4, Shyam Ansari 2/18.
