|Garo Hills bandh called off|
TURA, March 30 – The Association for Democracy and Empowerment (ADE) today withdrew their shut down call for tomorrow after two constables responsible for the attack on their office were suspended late last evening. The NGO, however, warned that they would resume their agitation if those guilty for vandalism in ADE office were not arrested by April 7.
The ADE said in a statement, “Considering the problems the people were facing as well as the suspension of two policemen and institution of departmental proceedings against them, we have decided to call off the shutdown for tomorrow. We will, however, resume our agitation if they are not arrested by April 7.”
