Protest against Muivah’s statement
Correspondent
TEZPUR, March 28 - Various organisation including AASU, AATSA and Congress workers registered their strong protest at various places of Sonitpur district recently in protest against the NSCN supremo T Muivah’s statement on Framework agreement for the proposed Nagalim and the purported Central Government’s support to it. The protestors burnt the effigy of Prime Minister Narendra Modi and T Muivah at the heart of the town here and in Dhekiajuli town near Swahid Maidan.

Coming down heavily on the BJP Government, general secretary of Sonitpur District Committee Congress Bikash Kalita said that Government which was elected with the commitment of assurance of protecting jati, mati and bheti is now unable to protect the people of Assam. Echoing the same sentiments, the AATSA central executive Mohan Tanti said that Adivasis have shed their bloods at the hands of the Nagas for protecting their lands in the Assam-Nagaland border areas. “We will protect our land at any cost and not let Nagas get Assam land. We appeal to the both Central and State Governments to clear their stand in this regard,” he said.
