Nagaland employees call off strike

 DIMAPUR, March 28 - The Nagaland government employees have called off their ongoing pen-down strike today.

In a letter to Nagaland Chief Secretary, Confederation of All Nagaland State Services Association president and convenor of State Services Associations S Takatuba Aier informed that the government employees’ associations have accepted the offer of the government on condition that the government immediately issue notification for implementation of 7th ROP notionally with effect from June 1, 2017 and actual payment from January 1, 2018. The associations also said the agitation was withdrawn on another condition that the increment be effected from December 1, 2017 on the basis of notional fixation effected from June 1, 2017 and the same may be mentioned in the notification.

On Monday, the Nagaland Cabinet requested the agitating employees to call off their pen-down strike and resume duty.

The Cabinet sat met on Monday during which it expressed concern over the pen-down strike by the State government employees.
