Neglect of SC communities alleged in BTC
Correspondent
BONGAIGAON, March 28 – As the BTC polls are nearing, allegations of corruption against the Bodoland People’s Front (BPF) are being made by different organisations.

The ruling BPF party has deprived five lakh Scheduled Caste people residing in the BTAD of their Constitutional rights and misappropriated huge funds allocated for the development of the SC communities, alleged the Asom Anusuchit Jati Yuba-Chatra Santha.

The Santha’s general secretary, Nityananda Das alleged that the SC people in the BTAD are living under a fear psychosis and are being treated as a ‘neglected lot.’

The SC communities cannot speak up for their rights in the BTAD as they often receive threats from the henchmen of the BPF, Das maintained.

All the government funds reaching the BTC for the development of the SC communities have been misappropriated by the BPF leaders, he further alleged.

The SC student body called upon the SC communities to cast their votes in favour of other political parties instead of the BPF in the forthcoming polls to remedy this.

Since the amount of Rs 256 crore released for the SC communities has been misappropriated by the Government in the State and the BTC, the student group will go for an agitation soon after the BTC polls, Das said.
