IMPHAL, March 23 - After the announcement of party’s candidates for the Lok Sabha elections, the BJP is making an all out effort to open party’s account in Manipur.
BJP senior leader Nalin Kohli, who is the election in- charge of Manipur and Nagaland, has arrived here to attend the party’s meeting here on Saturday.
Soon after his arrival, BJP national spokesperson Kohli accompanied by party workers attended an internal meeting to strengthen the party, sources said.
Opposition Congress is yet to name its candidates for the Inner and Outer Manipur seats till the filing of this report. However, party sources said that ex-State chief secretary O Nabakishore and K James, a social worker are likely to get party tickets for the two seats.
Naga People’s Front, a major coalition partner of the BJP-led government in Manipur, has put up Dr Lorho Mao as their candidate in the Outer Manipur seat.
