Assam Police Annual Sports Meet concludes
 DERGAON, March 22 The 4th Assam Police Battalion, Guwahati lifted the DGPs medal becoming the overall best team in the 25th Assam Police Annual Sports Meet which was concluded yesterday. The Guwahati team won a total of 29 medals, 14 gold, 6 silver and 9 bronze. On the other hand in the meet with 5 gold medals, Dipali Deori of 4th APBn received the best women athlete award while with 4 gold Atanu Rava of 13th APBn received the best man athlete award. Ghanakanta Pegu of 16th AP(IR) Bn received the best footballer award. In the football final 16th AP(IR)Bn defeated 4th APBn 2-0 goals to clinch the title. The 9th APBn received the bronze medal in football. With 14 medals ( 8 gold, 4 silver and 2 bronze) the Commando Battalion, Guwahati became the second best team while with nine medals ( 5 gold, 3 silver and 1 bronze) the 11 th APBn became third. A total of 1295 police personnels of different ranks from 28 battalions, 4 police organisations, 20 DEFs and 4 training centres took part in the meet. In the closing ceremony held at Police Training College Stadium here State DGP Khagen Sarmah was present as the chief guest.
