The exercise concluded with a note to organise more such exercises in future so that the effective response operations during CBRN emergency can be carried out to save precious human lives.
According to the statement, industrial disaster response and mitigation mock drills generate mass awareness in among sections of society. Such mock drills also develop better coordination which is essential to respond to actual disaster situations.
The statement further said that disaster response is not only the task of specialised groups; even community groups, youths, working people, NGOs, various authorities and civil administration also play an active role for effective and accountable disaster management.
The community should be aware of the hazardous installations and know how to combat the situation, as there is little or no warning of industrial chemical accidents and the loss incurred is very high, the statement added.
