Navarang cricket semis today

 GUWAHATI, March 17 – Bud Cricket Club will play against City Cricket Coaching Centre while Guwahati Cricket Coaching Centre will be pitted against Santipur Athletic Club in two semifinals of the Nilimoy Choudhury Memorial T-20 Cricket Tournament at the Judges’ Field here tomorrow, organised by Navarang Club.

In the last group league matches played today, Santipur trounced River Rine by seven wickets while Navarang Club earned a hard-fought eight-run victory against Gauhati Town Club.

In the first encounter, River Rine scored 127 for nine in 20 overs and in reply, Santipur reached the target in 17.4 overs losing three wickets.

On the other hand, Navarang piled up 183 for three and chasing the target Town Club fell eight run short as they were all out for 175.

Brief scores: River Rine 127/9 (Rohit Sharma 26, Raju Kalita 22, Raj Thapa 21, Roshan Basfor 2/13, Sanjib Dutta 2/23). Santipur 128/3 (Roshan Basfor 53, Biplab Saikia 24, Washiqur Rahman 21).

Navarang 183/3 (Manoj Malo 87, Niraj Tiwari 69, Avinab Choudhury 2/16). Town Club 175 (Deep Bora 38, Ram Kripal Gupta 31, Shimanta Neogi 30, Bastab Hazarika 24, Bipul Koch 3/20, Raju Pegu 3/30, Mantu Das 2/26).
