Man attacked, robbed

 GUWAHATI, March 16 - Dipankar Dutta, an employee of a private company here, was severely injured when he was attacked by four bike-riding miscreants early this morning.

According to police, the gang looted all his valuables, including his wallet, mobile phone, gold chain, etc., and fled the spot. The incident took place near the Ulubari flyover. A patrolling team of Paltan Bazar PS was present near the spot and tried in vain to nab the miscreants. The police only found a scooty abandoned by the gang.

Dutta was on his way from the Guwahati Railway Station to his rented house at Lachit Nagar, when the miscreants waylaid him. The miscreants beat him up with iron rods. Dutta suffered multiple head injuries and has been shifted to Kolkata for treatment. Investigation is on to trace the gang but no one has been apprehended till now.
