Ballot festival held in Manipur

 IMPHAL, March 14 - A two-day Ballot Fest organised by District Election Officer, Churachandpur at Tuibong, about 65 km from here, began today.

About 3,000 personnel attended the briefing and awareness on EVM/VVPAT, cVigil, 1950 helpline and the participants marked their attendance by casting votes on EVM-VVPAT.

DEO Shyam Lal Poonia informed the personnel on various initiatives of Election Commission towards free and fair elections. He also announced that a cash prize of Rs 5,000 will be given to best performing polling team in every Assembly constituency.

The DEO informed that training of polling personnel will start from March 18 at Churachandpur Government College. About 100 polling stations under Churachandpur and Saikot Assembly constituencies have been designated to be manned by all women polling personnel. Sankalp Patras were signed by all the participants for free and fair conduct of election.
