Irrigation schemes inaugurated in BTC area

 UDALGURI, March 14 – Keeping up the tempo of development, Mitharam Basumatary, executive member of BTC assembly who represents the 37 Dhansiri constituency in Udalguri district, inaugurated 5 small irrigation schemes worth Rs 13.55 crores in different villages of Dhansiri constituency on March 2 last.

The small irrigation schemes under AIDP of 2009-10, are considered to be much useful to the farmers of the constituency to irrigate their paddy fields.

Inaugurating the AIDP irrigation scheme worth Rs 8 crore at Dahaliapara village under Kajiamati VCDC in Udalguri district, Mitharam Basumatary, executive member of BTC for agriculture said that the farmers would now avail irrigation facilities in their paddy fields which would be instrumental in creating green revolution in the true sense. The executive member also inaugurated another AIDP scheme of irrigation at Gumsabil FIS against Rs 0.85 crore under Kajiamati VCDC, at Hapagaon FIS against 0.70 crore under Khomabari VCDC and Kachumari FIS against Rs 4 crore under Borigaon VCDC all under 37 Dhansiri VCDC and hoped that the farmers would utilise the small irrigation projects in a proper way for their maximum benefit. Basumatary also appealed to maintain peace and harmony and to be alert about the divisive forces which are trying to create disturbance in the society.
