Greater Guwahati Baby League

 GUWAHATI, March 11 - A total of 58 teams battled it out yesterday in four categories of ongoing Greater Guwahati Baby League (GGBL). On match day 9 of state's first ever structured youth league which is organised by Sportscraft Management in association with Guwahati City FC and supported by Assam Football Association as well as All India Football Federation, saw more than 600 kids showing some breathtaking football skills which resulted in a total of 122 goals in 40 matches at Nehru Stadium, Guwahati. 

During the match day, all girl footballers and woman coaches of the gender neutral league were felicitated with mementos to observe Asian Football Confederation's women football day and encourage more girls to take up the game from early stage. Footballers were felicitated by Co-founder of Guwahati City FC Siddhartha Sankar Deka, Co-founder of Sportscraft Management Darick Ranjan Deka, Head Coach of Guwahati City FC Rangman Das and Baby League operator Kaustab Chakraborty. The league which is being operated under rules and regulations of All India Football Federation and supported by Decathlon, Egua packaged drinking water, Champion's Food Court is witnessing some brilliant goal scoring forwards. In U7 category, Ishan Saikia of GTC Rhinos is the leading  goalscorer while Masud Ahmed of NFRSA Cheetahs is leading the chart in U9 category. Saksham Deka of GTC Rhinos and Kaushik Patar Sanskriti Warriors are the top scorers in U11 category while Sanjoy Boro of Sarusajai Hawks and Monjyoti Tamuli of AG Leopards are the leading goal poachers in U13 category, said a statement of Sportscraft Management.
