CPI predicts hung Assembly in Manipur
Correspondent
IMPHAL, March 10 - Convener of newly-floated six-party alliance Left and Democratic Front Manipur (LDFM) and CPI (State Council) secretary Dr Moirangthem Nara on Friday predicted a “hung assembly” in Manipur considering the reports of exit polls.

As per the exit poll reports, Congress will be the single largest party (20-25 seats) while BJP will get 15-17, Nara added and claimed that LDFM is expecting around 12 seats. “So, there is a possibility of hung Assembly in the State and the situation will demand a coalition government,” he observed.

Addressing a press conference he told reporters that LDFM may join hands with Congress “if the situation demands” in forming the next government in the border State.

“We may go with Congress if the situation demands. However, we will be discussing the matter once the results are declared,” said Dr Nara. “We will play a crucial role in forming the next government and also in guiding a value-based politics in the State.”
