Dibrugarh shut down peaceful

 DIBRUGARH, March 9 - The dawn-to-dusk Dibrugarh district bandh, called by some anonymous persons under the banner of Sadou Borpathar Aru Dibrugarh Bashi Hoseton Raij in protest against the Nikhil Bharat Bangali Udbastu Samanway Samitee for their alleged anti-Assamese slogans, passed off peacefully today.

Barring a few educational institutions, the bandh affected all business establishments, financial institutions, government offices and markets. The roads also wore deserted look as vehicles did not ply on them. There were reports of some groups of boys forcing closure of some private schools.
