|Database on unorganised sector workers|
GUWAHATI, March 9 - The State government is preparing a database on unorganised sector workers who will be provided an identity card and a unique number, which will entitle them to avail various social benefits.
Replying to a draw attention motion in the Legislative Assembly, Minister for Revenue and Disaster Management Pallab Lochan Das said that providing social security to unorganised sector workers and the card with the unique number will allow them to avail benefits including healthcare.
Das said the government is also working towards forming a land bank and land is being identified at village and revenue circle levels for this purpose.
He said the land bank will facilitate rehabilitation of erosion-affected families and added that the government has recognised erosion as a State-specific disaster.
