‘RSS-BJP behind Silapathar incident’
Staff reporter
GUWAHATI, March 9 - The Left-Democratic Mancha, Assam has alleged that the RSS-BJP combine masterminded and engineered the March 6 Silapathar incident under the banner of NiBBUSS with an ugly design to create division between the Hindu Bengalis and local people. The provocative demands and statements of the leaders of the NiBBUSS and the attack on the AASU office were part of the conspiracies hatched by the RSS and BJP.

It said in a statement here today, that it condemned the attack on the local office of the AASU by the RSS-backed supporters of the NiBBUSS and their provocative actions against the local inhabitants in no uncertain terms.

It has decided to organise a sit-in demonstration tomorrow at 11 am on the bank of the Dighalipukhuri to register its protest against the Silapathar incident and BJP’s divisive gameplan in Assam. It has also demanded a probe headed by a sitting High Court judge into the incident and immediate withdrawal of the Citizenship (Amendment) Bill, 2016.
