GUWAHATI, Feb 28 - The Krishna Kanta Handiqui State Open University (KKHSOU) has taken a special initiative to generate awareness about the ill-effects of arsenic and fluoride-affected drinking water in various parts of the State.
The varsity has produced a documentary titled Ek Obohelita Juddha (A Neglected Battle) which was screened yesterday afternoon at Jyoti Chitraban. Acclaimed filmmaker Jahnu Baruah attended a programme organised on the occasion. He also interacted with the audience present at the programme.
The university produced the documentary as part of its social responsibility of higher education. The documentary has been directed by KKHSOU Vice Chancellor Dr Hitesh Deka.
The programme was also attended by Chairman of Jyoti Chitraban Pabitra Margherita, noted filmmaker Pulak Gogoi, film critic Chandan Sarma and others.
