GUWAHATI, June 29 – The Kamrup Metro district administration is going to introduce a computerised token system in the office of the Sub-registrar here tomorrow to facilitate citizens to get their registration work done in a hassle free and orderly manner, stated a press release.
The district administration has requested the people to collect the paper coupon from any counter of PFC or the help desk between 10.00 am and 1 pm. The display monitor fitted in the Sub-registrar office will indicate the counter number of Sub-registrar to whom he or she has to approach for the registration activities. Citizens are requested to enter the office after getting the Sub-registrar counter numbers only.
Further, it is requested that the legitimate fees are paid against the registration. Any complaint regarding anyone demanding extra money should be reported to the Deputy Commissioner through toll free phone number 1800-345-3628 or through written complaint.
The district administration has also revamped the public facilitation centre by introducing SMS-based information service. The improved computerized system sends information to the citizens through mobile phones as regards to the status of the petitions, etc.
The PFC, RTI cell, central receipt, land sale and administration branch of the office are now using the system. The district administration is taking steps to extend the system to other branches in a phased manner.
The citizens were requested to mention their mobile phone in all petitions submitted to the DC office/Circle office to avail the benefit of the system, the release added.
