Ex-ACS officer held in graft case

 NALBARI, June 24 – The former Chief Executive Officer (CEO) of Nalbari Zilla Parisad, Enamul Haque Choudhury was arrested by Dispur police from a city hotel last night on the charge of

massive corruption during hir tenure in Nalbari office. Dispur police handed him over to Nalbari police.

It may be mentioned here that the former ACS officer Haque was absconding for last few days to avoid arrest.The Nalbari police had been looking for the officer in a corruption case filed at

Nalbari.The former CEO allegedly siphoned off Rs 65 lakh under Twelfth Finance Commission(TFC) diverting it to District Development Plan(DDP) in 2010-11 financial year violating the Assam Financial Regulatory Act. The ‘corrupt’ official siphoned off the entire amount in the name of implemention a deep tubewell scheme in the district.
