DIPHU, June 23 - The 5th International Yoga Day was observed amidst much enthusiasm in Karbi Anglong Sports Association auditorium on Friday.
The event was organised by Karbi Anglong Autonomous Council in association with the district administration, Health Society and NHM of Karbi Anglong.
Karbi Anglong Autonomous Council Chief Executive Member Tuliram Ronghang led the event which was attended by his colleagues and Member of Parliament Horensing Bey, Deputy Speaker of KAAC Ritesh Engti, Executive Member Pradip Rongpi, Amarsing Tisso, Rupsing Teron, Pradip Diphusa, Mongalsing Timung, Khonsing Rongpi, Darsing Ronghang, Prabhat Chandra Taro, Richard Tokbi, Deputy Commissioner of Karbi Anglong Mukul Kumar Saikia, former MLA Bidyasing Engleng and others.
Meanwhile, Balijan Youth Club of Bokajan also observed the Day with a day-long programme.
Yoga instructor S Roy demonstrated different types of asanas and explained before the participants about yoga’s beneficial effects. He mentioned that yoga is the most effective science and methodology to manifest diversity within humans and to channelise the endeavour for nation building in a healthy manner.
