GUWAHATI, June 23 - Conceptualised to coincide with 75 years of Swahid Kushal Konwar’s hanging by the British imperialists on June 15, 1943 at the Central Jail Jorhat for his role in the Quit India Movement of 1942, the Mahapurush Madhavdeva Foundation of Jorhat recalled the supreme sacrifice of the patriot at a meeting organised at Ward No. 4 Primary School in the ‘Knowledge City’ of Upper Assam on June 15 last, a press release received here stated.
The Swahid Divas function was presided over by former Bahona College Principal Dr Seniram Dutta and attended by Jorhat district Development Commissioner Brajen Chandra Das, among others.
