Arunachal Minister inspects NH 415

ITANAGAR, June 23 (PTI) – Arunachal Pradesh Public Works Department Minister Gojen Gadi today inspected the National Highway 415, severely damaged by the month-long heavy rainfall, particularly the Karsingsa sinking zone, which snapped the lifeline to the State Capital.

Gadi, who had earlier visited the spot on June 8 along with PWD (Highway) Naharlagun Division Executive Engineer Khoda Gyati, held discussion with the engineers, local leaders and contractors to assess the problems.

Massive landslides had buried two earth movers on June 20, the minister was informed by the engineers.

Responding to questions, the minister said that during his recent visit to New Delhi he had received a positive indication from the Union Ministry of Road, Transport and Highways on sanction for the four-lane Itanagar-Hollongi Highway and allow speedy construction of a RCC bridge as a permanent solution to link the State Capital.
