Kaziranga University blazes new trail in academic partnership, placement


 
 GUWAHATI, June 22 - Kaziranga University in a press meet organised on Thursday in Guwahati highlighted its placement record over the years, besides shedding light on some of its noted academic collaborations and partnerships, an e-mail stated.

In line with its endeavour to establish profitable and working tie-ups with renowned business and corporate houses, academic and research institutes and professional industry partners, Kaziranga University has over the years established several national and international collaborations to conduct one-of-a-kind courses and programmes for the students of the North East with a view to guide, motivate and expose the students to hands-on learning approaches that are directly provided from experts in various fields, thus giving the students a chance to boost their research awareness, technical knowledge and skills.

Some of these coveted and prestigious partnerships include those with IBM, Timespro, Safeducate, Assumption University (Thailand), TAL Brabo under TAL Manufacturing Solutions, BOSCH, National Institute of Construction Management and Research (NICMAR), SKF, Entrepreneurship Development Institute of India, Numaligarh Refinery Pvt. Ltd, IL and FS Skill Development Corporation and ICICI Direct – in association with which KU offers several popular MBA and B Tech courses and programmes.

Kaziranga University also started its sixth academic school, i.e., the ‘School of Health Sciences’ in association with Apollo MedSkills, offering courses in Physiotherapy, Optometry, Dialysis, Operation Theatre Technology, Medical Laboratory Technology, Advanced Imaging Technology and Trauma, Emergency and Disaster Management. In terms of recent collaborations for MBA programmes, KU has the distinction of offering a unique MBA in Event Management programme, conducted in collaboration with DNA Networks and Team I, the renowned Bangalore-based Event Management institute. KU has also collaborated with Nagasaki Wesleyan University and Silver Peak of Japan as a special initiative for exploring the opportunities of KU students in Japan, which has been attracting a large number of students from South and South East Asian countries.

Promoting entrepreneurship with an aim of facilitating a culture of incubation and start-ups, KU has also recently partnered with Assam Startup – The Nest (a Govt. of Assam initiative) as its first academic partner to facilitate district-level entrepreneurship through entrepreneurship development centres and incubation cells within the University.

Another esteemed partner collaboration promoting entrepreneurship in the region is with the Indian Institute of Entrepreneurship (IIE) to collaborate in training, research, incubation and knowledge sharing in the areas of entrepreneurship, education and development.

In terms of international and national placement of students, Kaziranga University’s performance has been remarkable too.

A total of 88 companies have visited KU this year and more than 450 job offers have been made to the students, out of which 78 have been for those who are students of other institutions and colleges, spread over 20 campuses.

Over the last six years, the Career Development and Placement Cell of KU has placed more than 750 students across the University’s School of Engineering and Technology (SET), the School of Business (SOB), School of Social Sciences (SSS) and the School of Computing Sciences (SCS), in renowned corporate houses, companies and firms all over India.

Significantly, KU has obtained 100% placement for MBA, Computer Science, Mechanical Engineering and Electrical Engineering students for this academic year. The highest offer made in 2019 has been for 9 lakh per annum for MBA as well as B.Tech students. KU has not been behind in terms of international placement as well. 3 MBA students of KU were placed in coveted positions in Emirates Hospital, Dubai, while a KU alumna is working at AUDI in Ingolstadt, Germany.

Further, KU students have also proceeded for PhD and post-graduate studies in some of the world’s most reputed universities. Several KU students have also successfully cleared NET, SLET, JAM, GATE and many other examinations.

Kaziranga University’s placement performance may be attributed to its unique strategy in establishing a network of placement offices across industrial cities in India such as Delhi, Bangalore and Pune. With these pan-Indian and international placement and collaboration activities, Kaziranga University has definitely fulfilled its mission of being a trusted and effective determinant for career development in the North East, and has positioned itself as an unchallenged leader among private universities in the region.
