Olympic Day Run today

 GUWAHATI, June 22 – On the occasion of International Olympic Day, along with the rest of the country, the Assam Olympic Association will organise the Olympic Day Run here tomorrow.

The run is scheduled to start at the Chandmari flyover at 6 am. Noted table tennis players of the country Kamlesh Mehta and Monalisa Baruah Mehta will be the star attractions of the event where State Ministers Rockybul Hussain, Gautam Roy, Ajit Singh, several leading sportspersons, film actors, sports organisers and school students will take part. The organisers are expecting around 3000 participants in the run which will culminate at the RG Baruah Sports Complex.

On the occasion, sportspersons like veteran women middle distance runner Bhagya Kalita, well known organiser Kumudeswar Hazarika and former table tennis player Dwarik Sarma will be felicitated by the organisers. The organisers will be providing T-shirts and caps for the participants.
