Ex-Tribune employee KD Patgiri no more

 GUWAHATI, June 20 - Kamal Dutta Patgiri, a retired employee of The Assam Tribune and resident of Silpukhuri, passed away at the Apollo Hospital here last night. He was 65.

He had joined The Assam Tribune as a proof reader (Advertisement) in 1984 and retired as schedule manager (Advertisement) on January 31, 2019.

He was closely associated with the Gauhati Artists’ Guild. He leaves behind his wife Amba Saikia Patgiri, who was a former State volleyball player, and a son.

The Assam Tribune Employees’ Union (ATEU) has condoled his death. In a statement, ATEU recalled Patgiri’s long stint in The Assam Tribune Group of Publications and said that he was a dedicated and sincere employee who also contributed to the cause of the employees’ union.

The Gauhati Artists’ Guild also mourned Patgiri’s death. In a condolence message, it said that as an active member of the Guild, he rendered yeoman’s service and also edited the Guild’s yearly publication Chinha.

The Guild held a condolence meeting and conveyed its sympathy to the bereaved family.
