SAF TT meet begins in Shillong

 SHILLONG, June 17 – The India boys team beat Bhutan and Pakistan in Group A matches and made it to the semifinals of SAF Junior Table Tennis Championships here today.

 In the boys category, India beat Bhutan 3-0 and Pakistan with similar margins to enter the semifinals of the tournament being played at the Jawaharlal Nehru Sports Complex indoor hall.

The Indian boys team comprised of Sudhanshu Grover, Abhishek Yadav, Vivek Bhargava and R Anandraj. The group leaders will now clash in the semifinals with the second best team of group B. The Group B matches were rescheduled as the Sri Lankan team arrived late.

In the girls category, India beat Pakistan 3-0. In the cadet boys category India, beat Bangladesh 3-0 while the girls team beat Nepal with similar figures. The second round matches of junior girls, cadet boys and girls and junior boys (Group B) would be held later this evening. All togethers six countries – India, Pakistan, Sri Lanka, Bhutan, Nepal, Bangladesh are taking part in the meet.
