Awareness programme on NRC held

 DHUBRI, June 14 - The Dhubri district administration appealed to the people not to panic for the second draft of the National Register of Citizens (NRC) scheduled to be published on June 30.

In this connection an awareness programme was organised at the Deputy Commissioner’s Conference Hall, which was also attended by ADC Sorman Ali and Pallav Mazumder in presence of Addl SP G Deka, DIPRO and other NRC Officials, members of all the political parties, NGOs, senior citizens and other individuals.

“If someone name is not included in the draft NRC, then in the Claims and Object Phase, people will be informed about the reason why the name has not been figured or what documents will be required,” a senior official said after the meeting.

It may be mentioned that the first Draft NRC covered around 35.76 per cent people in Dhubri district.
