IMPHAL, June 11 - A high-level delegation of Myanmar has underscored the need for developing medical tourism between the North-east and Myanmar.
Chief Minister Aung Moe Nyo of Myanmar’s Magway Region said that he would recommend his people in Myanmar to avail medical facilities in Manipur.
“People of Myanmar generally prefer either Bangkok or Singapore for treatment, but they can avail medical facilities in Manipur,” said the Chief Minister.
Chief Minister Aung was speaking to media on the sidelines of the first day session of the ongoing India-Myanmar conference on “Connecting India’s Northeast with North West region of Myanmar: Roadmap for all-round Prosperity,” in Imphal on Tuesday.
Stressing the importance of strengthening the relationship between the countries, the Chief Minister also laid emphasis on strengthening the bilateral ties.
Chief Minister of Magway Region led a 14-member delegation visited Regional Institute of Medical Sciences (RIMS), the government-run premier healthcare institute and Sky Hospital in Imphal wherein RIMS Director Dr A Santa made a power-point presentation about the medical facilities.
