GUWAHATI, June 11 – A get-together of the 1956 batch of matriculates of Gauhati University was organised at Gymkhana hall of the Tea Auction Centre, at Ganeshguri on June 9 evening and the idea of forming a forum of the matriculates of that year was discussed.It tentatively decided to call a convention in September this year and formed a preparatory committee with Pradeep Baruah as convenor and Captain Robin Bordoloi, Col Monoranjan Goswami, Dr BR Bhuyan, Dr Bina Tamuli, Kalyan Bora and Ranjeet Narayan Deka as members.
Pradeep Baruah, convenor of the committee, urged all the surviving matriculates of 1956 of GU to fill in a format for future correspondence. The format will be available in the office of the Prantik at Nabagiri Path, Chandmari. It can also be had from Captain Robin Bordoloi, MLA, BK Kakati Road, Ulubari.
