|Concern over price rise|
GUWAHATI, June 3 - A meeting of the Chandmari Mahila Santha held here on Friday expressed serious concern at the abnormal rise in prices of essential commodities including foodstuff, and urged the administration and the State government to put a curb on the arbitrary pricing.
The Santha also criticised the steep hike in prices of LPG cylinders. The Santha further came down heavily on the government over the Citizenship (Amendment) Bill and warned the government against passing the Bill in Parliament. “The people of Assam will never allow this Bill to become an Act,” it said.
