17 injured in Meghalaya road mishap

SHILLONG, May 31 - Seventeen people were injured at Mawlai Mawiong Rim here after three vehicles were involved in an accident today.
According to the police, the accident occurred after a private vehicle (ML 05 N 4205), which was on its way to Shillong from Guwahati, overtook a truck. Due to this, the driver of a bus (ML 06 3370), proceeding from Shillong to Guwahati, lost control of his vehicle and rammed into the truck.“The private vehicle also hit an electric pole and all the three vehicles were damaged. Drivers and occupants of the vehicles sustained injuries,” a police official said. All the injured have been shifted to the Shillong Civil Hospital.
