PREPAK cadre arrested

 IMPHAL, July 27 – A woman cadre of the proscribed outfit PREPAK has been apprehended by a joint team of Thoubal police commandos and the jawans of 27 Assam Rifles.

The arrested cadre has been identified as Ningthoujam Pramodini alias Ritu Devi, 31, daughter of N Ibocha of Arong Khunou, Thoubal district, a statement from the district Superintendant of Police said on Thursday.

Pramodini was arrested by the joint security team during a search operation carried out in the Wabgai Lamkhai area around 5.15 pm on Wednesday, the statement added.

It also said that a 9 mm pistol with two live rounds and two mobile handsets were seized from her possession.
