Concern over growing lawlessness

 GUWAHATI, July 19 – The Indian Council or Social Welfare (ICSW) today pressed for justice for the girl who was molested in Christianbasti area by a group of miscreants outside a city pub on the night of July 9.

Strongly condemning the incident, the members of ICSW expressed concern over the growing lawlessness, violence and crime against women in particular not only in Guwahati but, in other parts of the State also.

“It is a very serious problem and the members of ICSW request the government to take drastic action and to arrest the culprits as soon as possible. The council also requested the people of Assam to continue to protest against such incidents,” a statement mentioned.

It also asked the particular new channel not to telecast such news in future which can destroy the image of women in the society.
