The victims are facing crisis of food and safe shelter in those rural areas on the northern bank of Aie river. But officers of district administration neither visited those affected villages nor distributed relief materials among the victims despite witnessing incessant rain and sudden increased flow of water from Bhutan in the rivers and its tributaries, recently, in the district, the flood-hit villagers alleged.

The tributaries of Aie tiver – Taklai, Nagolbhanga, Makra, Huthuti and Rangijhora suddenly received a huge rush of water flowing down from Bhuatan side in last week. The tributaries swelled up with heavy water and changed their courses to join Aie river. As a result, over-flowing waters of those tributaries caused massive damage to the standing crops and farm lands besides harming livestock of those villages.
