Vast areas of Orang NP submerged Correspondent MANGALDAI, July 13 - A big area of Orang National Park and Tiger Reserve of Darrang district has been submerged in the first wave of flood of this season.
Range Officer Ranjan Kumar Baruah informed media that areas under 18 forest protection camps have been inundated by the Brahmaputra and its tributary Dhansiri. The animals in the forest are having a tough time while searching for highlands to take shelter.
Forest guards have are also facing a critical time in performing their routine duties. They have intensified their vigilance over the possible entry of the poachers through the river routes with the help of a few country boats.
