City Correspondent
GUWAHATI, July 13 - Students of College of Veterinary Science, Khanapara on Saturday sat on a protest demanding justice, after one of their classmates was allegedly assaulted by a pet owner.

The students alleged that on July 6, a person who introduced himself as the husband of an Additional Deputy Superintendent-level officer of Assam Police, came to the veterinary clinical teaching complex of the college with his pets and demanded ‘VIP attention’ and misbehaved with the on-duty doctor.

After the incident, the person also lodged a complaint with the Dispur Police Station. Pabitra Bortamuli, a student of the college, also alleged that police refused to accept their case as a cross case of the one lodged by the person.

However, an official of the Dispur PS said police will file a case, according to the complaint lodged by the students.
