SIT to probe AAU student murder case
 SIVASAGAR, July 11 - The State police has constituted a special investigation team (SIT) headed by Additional SP to probe into the sensational murder of Assam Agricultural University student Radha Kumari.

The body of 21-year-old Radha Kumari was recovered from the toilet of the Dibrugarh-Rangiya Kamkhya Express on Tuesday when the train had stopped at Simaluguri Railway Station in Upper Assam’s Sivasagar district.

Meanwhile, Pallov Gopal Jha ,Deputy Commissioner of Sivasagar and Subudh Sonowal, SP of Sivasagar today visited the bereaved family and assured them all possible help from their sides .Sivasagar Police also booked a man in this connection today.

Joutha Sangrami Moncha, an umbrella organisation, has sought a compensatation of Rs 20 lakh from the Railways today.

In a memorandum submitted to the Railway Minister through the Station Master, Sivasagar , the organisation also demanded adequate security to the passengers . “ The murderer could have been caught had there been CCTV installed in the station,” the organisation said.

Debabrat Saikia, Leader of the Opposition, visited Radha’s family and donated Rs15,000 to her mother today.
